Maple Glazed Donuts

These ones aren’t from the Wheat Belly Cookbook, but I figured I’d post them anyway. On the plus side, I can link the recipe this time: Maple Glazed Donuts at Savory Lotus.

On Wednesday I decided randomly to try and make some non-wheat donuts I’d bookmarked a while back. I wanted a treat and did have anything in the house. I should probably plan ahead for that from now on. I have discovered impatience doesn’t go well with baking.

Substitutions/Changes:

  • Ground almonds and coconut for almond and coconut flours. I’ve decided the difference must be the fineness of the grind. These turned out a little coarse.
  • Butter for coconut butter.

Mistakes:

  • I filled the tray a little too full for some of them, and lost the holes.
  • I tried to put the glaze on too soon. (Thus the impatience lesson.)

Prep Time: ~15 minutes.

Cooking Time: ~25 minutes.

Total Time (start to plate): ~45 minutes (and should have waited longer for cooling).
