I received a rejection letter today (alas) for an audio magazine. I’d wondered on submitting whether the fantasy language in the story would keep it from being a good fit. What hadn’t occurred to me, was that the world building required in the story (of which the language was one part) could have the same effect.
It was an interesting perspective with which to evaluate the story. I like it when I can look at what I’ve written from a different angle. Even when it comes with a rejection letter
Anyway, I’ve decided to use this moment to claim my Worldbuilding merit badge.
