The Hunt Continues

But it goes slow.

I’ve been adding the widgets back to the sidebar one at a time, waiting to see which of them is causing the problem. There is only one left, so by tomorrow we should at least be able to answer the cause of the problem.

Assuming, of course, our theory holds true. That isn’t always the case when it comes to these things. There could be something else required to kick off the problem, and we wouldn’t have noticed it. Hopefully that is not the case here, as I’d like to be able to leave things as they are.

Here’s hoping.

Going Hunting

My site is experiencing a database issue, and I’m trying to hunt it down.

I’m temporarily disabled the sidebars while I look at this. Sorry about that!

Viewing: A Knight’s Tale

A Knight's Tale A Knight’s Tale

Heath Ledger stars as William Thatcher, a low-born 14th century squire who, in a fit of inspired spontaneity, replaces his deceased employer as the competitor at a jousting competition. Jousting is a pastime only permitted to knights, who are of noble birth, but Thatcher wins and decides to continue his new pursuits. With the help of his two fellow squire friends Wat and Roland, and none other than the gambling-addicted Geoffrey Chaucer, Thatcher has soon adopted a false identity and is winning one joust after another on his way to a championship in London.

Reading: The Birth House by Ami McKay

The Birth House by Ami McKay The Birth House
by Ami McKay

The Birth House is the story of Dora Rare, the first daughter to be born in five generations of Rares. As a child in an isolated village in Nova Scotia, she is drawn to Miss Babineau, an outspoken Acadian midwife with a gift for healing. Dora becomes Miss B.’s apprentice, and together they help the women of Scots Bay through infertility, difficult labours, breech births, unwanted pregnancies and even unfulfilling sex lives. Filled with details as compelling as they are surprising, The Birth House is an unforgettable tale of the struggles women have faced to have control of their own bodies and to keep the best parts of tradition alive in the world of modern medicine.

Nothing To Dread: A Niteblade Anthology

The second anthology for Niteblade Magazine is now available!

Nothing To Dread

A teenage couple who will never grow up, and married couples together too long. The epitome of beauty, and a dream of dragons. A unique Christmas tree, and the secret behind the Clauses’ immortality.

Seen in with a not-quite-mad hatter, and out with a wish for the dawn, the tenth issue of Niteblade brings back some of the year’s favourites. Along with tales based on an image by Marge Simon, this collection of stories and poems plays around the edges of naughty and nice.

The anthology is available both in paperback and PDF.

I’m biased, of course, but I think it’s a great collection ^_^
