It seemed like such a little thing, just one line in the pledge taken by those who joined the battle, the addition of an oath to fight and die not only for their country, but for those who made that fight possible. After all, the weapons they used, the vehicles they travelled in, and the computers they relied upon, they were manufactured in places worldwide, and the world was an uncertain place.
