Fine-Free Day 2008

From the Free-fine Day Web site:

“Fine-Free Day is an opportunity for the Edmonton Public Library to welcome back customers that have stopped visiting and using the Library’s services because of overdue charges and/or lost items. On Saturday, November 29, EPL is encouraging all customers that have overdue or previously lost materials to return them to the Library and have those charges waived. Customers who have returned materials but still have fines can also have up to $10 in fines on their account taken off with a donation to the Edmonton Food Bank.”

Quote from David Morrell

“We’re at the heart of the issue. The difference between fiction writers and civilians is that we make it our life’s work to put our daydreams and day-nightmares on paper. Most of the time, we don’t understand the secrets and demons that our spontaneous imaginations contain. All we feel is that there’s something in us demanding to be released in the form of a story.”
